Engine Repair Update
January 22, 2013
On behalf of the staff and all those we serve, we are grateful for you and your concern, prayers and special gifts. God is faithful and His people are too! We have felt your prayers, read your encouraging notes and counted every contribution as a blessing and provision from God! Our Embraer 110 is back in service, flying to the mission field!!
As many of you were aware, in mid-December we expected the “routine” plane inspection and engine work to cost no more than $5,000. Imagine the catch in our breath when the estimate we received was $74,160.45! High-tech tests conducted on a portion of the right engine revealed weaknesses that were not evident to the human eye. (For you aviation buffs, it was the “hot section” of the engine.)
Here is the detailed right engine repair cost breakdown:
Estimate from Covington Aircraft $74,160.45
Rebate from Pratt & Whitney -$12,000.00
Discount from Covington Aircraft - $6, 216.45
Total cost for the repair $55,944.00
In addition to the current engine repair expense, the other (left) engine on the plane must be removed and overhauled in May, 2014. The confirmed estimated expense for the upcoming overhaul is $160,000. In our original appeal to you, our promise was (and still remains!) that 100% of the funds received and designated for the repair of the engine would be utilized solely for that purpose. And any contributions received that are over and above the cost of the current repair will be set aside for the May 2014 engine overhaul.
We are thrilled to report of God’s faithfulness and your extreme generosity!
As of January 21st the Agape family has provided $74,861.44 to meet the engine repair need.
After we receive the expected Pratt and Whitney rebate, there will be nearly $20,000 (plus additional contributions as they are received) to begin saving for the May, 2014 engine overhaul.
Please pray for us as we face the fiscal challenges ahead.
Thank you for your continued response to meet this need.
Thank you to those of you who quietly serve as advocates on behalf of Agape.
We appreciate ALL that you do to help keep us flying!
It is only with your help and God’s grace that we are able to continue…
“Serving Christ by Serving His Missionaries.”

Until the repairs are complete, we are blessed to be flying our “heaven sent loaner plane”
and haven’t missed a flight!
We thank God for you, your prayers, kindness and generosity.
Thanksgiving “Agape Style”
A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who made our Missionary Thanksgiving Dinner Project a success!
With the help of donors and volunteers, Agape delivered 215 Thanksgiving dinners to our affiliated missionaries.
The missionaries were overjoyed to receive their dinners and wanted to share their heartfelt gratitude.
Please read through some of their notes of thanks to you - who made it all possible.

Gratitude to Sweetbay Grocery in Venice, Florida and its manager Brian
McFarlin for their ongoing support of Agape's Thanksgiving Dinners for the missionaries.
